When an AP's built-in vertical antenna works, vertical polarization is not easy to produce polarization current, which avoids significant energy attenuation and ensures effective signal propagation. The outdoor AP is mainly used for point-to-point long-distance transmission. The vertical antenna can ensure the transmission distance.

Parallel placement on the groundThe installation method is as follows:
When the outdoor AP is placed in parallel on the ground, the polarization direction of the vertical antenna changes to horizontal polarization, and the polarization direction of the horizontal antenna changes to vertical polarization. The polarization current is generated on the Earth surface when the signal transmitted in horizontal polarization is close to the ground, and the polarization current rapidly degrades the electric field signal due to the thermal energy generated by the ground impedance, affects the signal transmission distance. Therefore, we need to use vertical polarization signals, so we should select a horizontal antenna for horizontal placement.

, External antenna
In some environments, the built-in targeting antenna cannot meet your needs. You can connect to an external antenna. You need to select an external antenna on the management interface. In this case, the built-in orientation antenna stops working, and only the external antenna works.
Note:The external antenna interface of the AP body is a RP-SMA (The AP end is an external thread + needle), and the interface using the external antenna must be consistent with the interface type.
