How can enterprise users solve the issue that XP/Windows7 files cannot be shared with each other

I have always believed that there is no definite solution to this problem. That is to say, a specific solution can be found only when a specific situation occurs. But in fact, we can also summarize a general solution, and then take specific measures based on the general idea and specific problems.

I believe that when there is an obstacle to file sharing or mutual access between Winodws XP and Windows 7 (including mutual access within the LAN and dual-host interconnection), we can start from the following aspects. (This article is dominated by Windows 7 settings)

1. Whether the firewall is disabled

If you cannot see the other side between Windows 7 and Windows XP, first ensure that the firewall is disabled.

Disable Windows 7 Firewall

After you disable the system firewall for Windows 7 and Windows XP, check whether a third-party firewall is installed. If it is already installed, disable it.

Windows 7 shared folders cannot be accessed on Windows 7 computers. Some of them can see the shared directories under Windows 7, but once they enter the directory, they will prompt that they do not have access permissions.

 2. Enable the Guest account

Until now, there is no reasonable explanation to explain why not enabling Guest accounts affects the mutual access between Windows systems. This situation has been proven more than once between Windows 98 and Windows XP. Therefore, you must enable the Guest account for mutual access between Windows XP and Windows 7.

Enable Windows 7 Guest Account

Similarly, you also need to enable the Guest account on Windows XP.

 3. file and printer sharing

When a user disables the firewall and the Guest account is enabled, but the mutual access still fails, the user needs to enable "file and printer sharing" under Windows XP and Windows 7 firewalls respectively ".

Note: If you access the service through remote sharing, you should also find the items related to the remote service in the preceding figure and enable them separately.

 4. User Permissions

In Windows 7, Microsoft granted higher security permissions to the administrator account for system security considerations. However, this "high-permission" setting can cause more access barriers during system mutual access. Generally, because Windows 7 systems have a high degree of accessibility to the system, if the system prompts that the permission is insufficient, You need to grant the visitor higher permissions.

TIPS: Security Account permissions in Windows 7

Many users, including Windows 7 users, think that the Administrator account is the owner of the highest privilege in the system. Microsoft also sets a hidden account in Windows 7, which has higher permissions. (Do you know what this account is? You are welcome to discuss with each other .)

Back to the previous topic, because the other party is accessing the network, you may not be able to escalate permissions for the specific access account in the LAN. Therefore, you need to reduce the number of files (CLIPS) to be accessed) that is, the visitor is indirectly granted "full control of permissions ".

Permission to access folders is reduced in Windows 7

We can see that the folder "123" has been granted full control permissions to the Everyone account. (For specific settings, follow the red numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the figure. I will not describe them more .)

Note:

If the user still cannot access Shared Files after setting the above method, I suggest you switch to the "Security" label in the "123 properties" folder, then add full control permissions to the folder to access the user (for details, click to view: http://tech.sina.com.cn/s/2007-12-04/08341890150.shtml ).

5. Security software or system auxiliary software

In the Windows XP era, the well-known System Assistant Software is no longer the master of Windows optimization. On Windows 7, some users still use such software. This type of software is also for the sake of system security. Generally, remote access to the system or folder sharing are disabled. If you have installed such software, you need to check their program settings and whether shared and remote services are disabled.

In addition, in some anti-virus software, they also restrict remote services and access. You also need to remove the restrictions.

Due to the large number of software involved, I cannot introduce them one by one. You can only modify the security rules based on the security software you use.

Post:

I would like to remind you that what I am talking about here is just a "feasible solution", rather than a "only definite solution ". Most of the time, a seemingly unrelated system default setting is likely to cause normal access between systems, so no one can create a perfect solution out of thin air. If you encounter this problem, I hope that you can communicate with each other. Maybe a small prompt from other friends can help you solve the problem of mutual access and sharing.

Finally, let's make a small explanation. Maybe you will say that I cannot see XX users in the LAN. You didn't mention this in the article. This problem is actually a problem of the system or network itself. For example, if you cannot ping the same IP address, this problem is not mentioned in this article as file sharing and mutual access, so this article does not discuss it.
