Restore deleted objects by mistake

1. Application of the recycle bin
A file includes local directory items and local data in the disk. The directory items include the file name, extension, file size, the time when the file is set and last modified, and the starting cluster number of the file data storage. Local data contains the real data of the file. Everyone has the experience of accidental deletion of files or directories, but Windows Versions later than Windows 95 have adopted a safe way to maintain the accidental deletion of files, that is, the application "recycle bin ".
The "recycle bin" theory is an implicit directory of the hard disk. With the tacit consent, when a user deletes a file in a Windows system, Windows first transfers the file to this hidden directory, assume that you only need to go to the recycle bin to restore the file. Unless the user actively clears the recycle bin, or after a period of time, the file size stored in the recycle bin exceeds the size allowed by the recycle bin, the system automatically clears the files that are placed in the "recycle bin" earlier. Otherwise, these files will be kept here for a long time and can be recovered at any time. However, the application "recycle bin" still has defects in restoring the accidentally deleted file, that is, files deleted by commands such as DEL and DELTREE in the DOS window of Windows 9x or returned to DOS are not maintained by the recycle bin. In addition, many users prefer to clear the "recycle bin" and press Shift to delete the file directly. In this case, the file will be deleted directly without being saved to the "recycle bin ". In this way, the Windows "recycle bin" does not work.
II. Application of temporary files
Some applications will always leave some temporary files when they are running, especially when using Office software, you only need to pay attention to them, we will find a lot of similarity in the My Document folder WRL1233.tmp files, in fact, these files are automatically stored in the Office. After deleting the file by mistake, you may have to go to the folder and try to open these temporary files one by one. Maybe you can find the one you want. In addition, some software stores another. BAK file during storage, and you can also open it.

3. Restore files accidentally deleted by the application tool
At present, there are many such software, such as FinalData and RecoverNT. Here we will only introduce the simple principle of FinalDta and the restoration process.
FinalData is a file restoration program. It can restore important deleted information and Extract files from a disk that has been formatted or damaged, allow the directory to be restored and stick to its original directory structure as much as possible.
Of course, not all deleted files can be recovered. Assuming that the deleted file has been replaced by another file or the space occupied by the file data has been allocated to another file, the file cannot be recovered. Therefore, when a file is accidentally deleted, assuming that the file is in a system partition (such as a drive C), the first thing to do is to immediately turn off the computer power, to prevent new operations from overwriting the physical area where the original file is located, assuming that the accidentally deleted file is in a non-system partition and the current partition does not have an AC file, there is no need to immediately turn off the computer power. In addition, it is assumed that the deleted files are physically damaged (floppy disk) and cannot be recovered. After knowing this, I will introduce how to use FinalData to restore the deleted file.

1. Start FinalData.
2. Click the "file" menu and select "open" to display the "select drive" dialog box.
3. Select the drive where the deleted file is located, such as "E:", and click "OK". FinalData will stop the regular scan of the drive you selected.
4. After scanning the program, you will be able to select the cluster range you want to search for and apply the slider stop settings for "start" and "end. Unless you do know the cluster where the deleted file is located, you are advised to use the system default value, but this requires a long scanning time.
5. after the program searches, it will stop directory profiling and display all the searched files and folders in the blank box on the program interface, including the directories and files that have been deleted, you can stop reading like using Windows Resource Manager. However, the first character of the deleted directory and file name is changed to "#" (if you delete the entire directory, the first character of the file name in the directory will not be destroyed ).
6. when you find the file to be restored, you can select one or more files, and then click the "Restore" button (Red Cross) in the "Tools" column. The "Storage path" dialog box is displayed, enter the storage path and click "save. Note that do not delete the drive where the file is stored by mistake. For users who only need one partition, it is assumed that the size of the deleted file is not too large and can be kept on a floppy disk.
7. After the storage ends, you can go to the resource manager to check whether the file has been properly kept. Assume that the first character of the file name is changed to "#" and can be changed back to the original name.

TIPS: Assume that a file is deleted from a DOS command prompt or by an application that does not support "recycle bin", the file will stick to its original file name. Assume that the file is first sent to the "recycle bin" and then deleted from the "recycle bin". The title of the file will be changed and renamed to "deleted ).
If a friend of FinalData needs to be able to find it on Baidu, he must regret to inform his friends who use Windows2000 that FinalData does not support Windows2000.

IV. Other methods to restore objects accidentally deleted
We have introduced three methods to restore accidentally deleted files. Here there are two other common methods to restore accidentally deleted files.
① Use the "UNDELETE" external command provided by high-version DOS to restore the file to be deleted. However, when using it to restore the file to be deleted, you must specify the file name and file name to allow wildcards.
② When Windows cannot be started, what should I do if I want to restore the files in the recycle bin? In this case, first enter the DOS mode and enter the C :\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ RECYCLED directory, which is a hiding directory, assume that the file you want to restore is in drive D, and the corresponding directory is D :\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ RECYCLED. Run the dir/a command to list a bunch of hidden files starting with DC. These are the files you deleted. Because Windows has changed the file name when moving the file to the "recycle bin", you still need to retrieve the original file name. The original file name can be found in the INFO2 file under the RECYCLED directory. INFO2 is a binary file. Each deleted file contains a record (800 bytes) in the INFO2 file, where the file name can be found. The file names are arranged in the descending order. The first file name is DC1. *. The original file name and extension of the file remain unchanged. Assume that the directory is deleted, there is a file named DC ???? Directory, the original directory name can be retrieved in the same way.

Restore accidentally formatted data

The formatting program (such as the FORMAT program under DOS) does not clear the file data on the hard disk, but overwrites the FAT table. As for the partition hard disk, it only fixes MBR and DBR, and the vast majority of file data is not destroyed, so many hard disk data can be restored. Of course, we can use some tools and software to effectively restore data on formatted hard disks, but it is difficult to prevent it, it cannot guarantee that all data can be recovered.

1. Unformat
In high-version DOS, The Unformat program is provided to restore previously formatted partitions. Although it can restore all files, it will lose the hierarchical structure of the directory.

Ii. FinalData
The process of restoring a hard disk using FinalData is basically the same as that described earlier. Select the drive to be restored, and then the program automatically displays the drive content, in this case, you can create a directory and choose to suspend the storage of the file. Note that clicking a folder is only equivalent to creating a folder, and the files under it are not protected at this time.
