If you have purchased a genuine image or have an ISO 8.1 image file and a 25-bit product key. This document will take you step by step through the CD (image) installation and upgrade to Windows 8.1. The image can be obtained from the Microsoft MSDN subscription account, TechNet subscription account, or a third-party website.
Note: system upgrade and installation may cause changes or loss of computer settings and data. We recommend that you back up your personal data before actual operations. Make sure that your computer has the driver support for Windows. After upgrading to 8.1, you may need to reinstall common software and drivers.
The testing hardware in this document is the Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 notebook, the hardware is configured with Intel I5 3210 M, 4G memory, 1 TB hard disk, and the testing ISO disc image file is downloaded from Microsoft's MSDN subscription account. All of the following test images and tests are tested on this hardware platform for reference only.
