Fault symptom:
After the system update operation is recently executed, open the "computer" and find that there is an extra partition, generally the size is M or 96 M. When you double-click it, you cannot open it directly, prompting you to require administrator permissions.
Cause analysis:
This problem occurs on pre-installed Windows 10 models and self-installed Windows 10 models. Currently, and are detected.
Involved models include ThinkLenovo desktop and notebook.
Solution:
1. It is verified that the normally displayed partition capacity is 96 M or 256 M, corresponding to the EFI system partition of M or M in disk management;
2. According to the above interface, although the EFI partition drive letter is displayed in the "computer" (Resource Manager), The EFI partition does not display the drive letter in disk management. We cannot use "change drive letter and path" in disk management to delete drive letters that are incorrectly displayed.
3. In the end, we need to use diskpart to remove the drive letter displayed by mistake.
Possible commands:
1. Run CMD as an administrator
2. Run the diskpart command
3. select disk x select the disk to operate (hard disk 2 in the figure below is the system disk)
4. list volume: displays all volumes of the selected disk.
5. select volume x select the volume to operate (in the figure, the G disk is the EFI partition to delete the drive letter)
6. remove letter = x to delete the specified volume drive number (in the figure, drive G is the EFI partition to delete the drive letter)
