Why is there a time difference between Ubuntu and Windows?
There is a time difference between Windows and Ubuntu systems because the two systems use different methods to identify the Hardware Clock (Hardware Clock ). Ubuntu treats the hardware clock as UTC time, while Windows treats the hardware clock as Local time ). Because the time processing method is different, Windows recognizes the Local time no matter how many times it is restarted, and the time will not change. When we restart from Ubuntu to Windows, the hardware clock has been regarded as UTC by Ubuntu, and Windows forcibly converts it to Local time, which leads to a time difference.
How can I solve the problem of time synchronization between Ubuntu and Windows?
To avoid time synchronization between Ubuntu and Windows systems, we only need to switch the UTC time of Ubuntu to Local time. The specific method is to change "UTC = yes" in the/etc/default/rcS file to "UTC = no" (without quotation marks ). After the change is complete, Ubuntu uses Local time instead of UTC, which solves the problem of dual system time.
If you want to quickly change the configuration file, you can directly execute the following command in the terminal:
Sudo sed-I's/UTC = no/UTC = yes/'/etc/default/rcS
