Yangmei: as a visual designer, in addition to satisfying users' aesthetic needs, yangmei also provides brand communication, information transmission, and function communication. In addition, yangmei wants to effectively convey information to users, we need to establish an information level, instead of throwing a brain to the user to understand it. what visual methods should we do and whether there is a theoretical basis behind these methods is the topic of this article.
First, let's take a look at the two pictures below. the picture on the left shows the effect taken by the camera. the picture on the right shows the effect when the human eye is not moving. we can find that the human eye does not obtain the information at a time, it cannot generate multiple focal points at the same time to keep the line of sight in more places. the designer needs to consider allowing users to get information in a certain order by moving their eyes, the process of getting and understanding is efficient and natural.
This design method mainly solves two problems:
1. user's efficiency in obtaining and understanding information
Establishing a good information level allows users to quickly obtain and understand useful and interesting information within a limited period of time and generate the next step;
2. professional designers
Designers consciously analyze information priorities and understand which visual representations can establish information levels and the theoretical basis behind each method, not just by feeling.
I. preliminary understanding and analysis
Before starting the design, in addition to understanding the background and objectives of the project, the visual designer also needs to know some content for the specific page to help guide the subsequent design, including page positioning, atmosphere creation, information priority, and core user behavior.
1.1 page positioning is a prerequisite for helping to analyze the page information priority and core behavior
Usually there are:
Who is the user
Where the user comes from, that is, the channel from which the user comes to the page
Page content positioning, what is provided, what is not provided
Page function
For example:
When designing and purchasing a new homepage directly to the market, we analyze the user's familiarity with the service on the page, and determine that the core target user of the homepage is a new buyer; the content positioning on the page shows the value of the market. The data generated by users gives new buyers the knowledge of purchasing directly to form a brand;
