How do I change the default open mode for a document?

Method/Step

The document I saved is in docx format, but the icon shows WPS. Open also preferred WPS open.

How do I change settings? Right-click on the file and find the selector in the open mode.

In the Open dialog box, select Microsoft Office and tick the box below. then click OK.

This will be opened with Microsoft Office, which will also open with this program, no longer WPS. And the icons have changed.

If Excel is also the default for WPS, it can be changed in the same way.
