How do I create a new style in Word 2013

In a Word2013 document, users can create new styles, such as new table styles, new list styles, and so on, depending on their actual work. The following steps are described in detail:

Step 1th, create a new blank Word2013 document, and click the Style button in the Styles group in the start Ribbon, as shown in Figure 2013081021.

Step 2nd, click the New Style button in the Open Styles pane, as shown in Figure 2013081022.

Step 3rd, open the Create new style based on Formatting dialog box, and enter the name of the new style in the name edit box. Then click the Style type Drop-down triangle button to include five types in the style type Drop-down list:

(1) Paragraph: The new style will be applied to the paragraph level;

(2) Character: The new style will be used only for character levels;

(3) Link paragraphs and characters: The new style will be used for both paragraph and character levels;

(4) Table: The new style is mainly used for tables;

(5) List: New styles are used primarily for bulleted and numbered lists.

Select a style type, such as paragraph, as shown in Figure 2013081023.

Step 4th, click the Style datum drop-down triangle button, and in the style base Drop-down list, select one of the built-in styles in Word2013 as the base style for the new style. This tutorial selects "Body" as the base style, as shown in Figure 2013081024.
