How do I partition the hard drive?

1, the mobile hard disk connected to the computer (desktop computer, please use the rear USB port, do not use the front USB port), the "My Computer" icon on the right mouse button, and then select "Management (G)" entry into the Computer Management interface.

2, in the Computer Management interface, click the "Disk Management" item, if the first time you use the system will appear the disk initialization prompts, the confirmation will be shown in the interface. In the right column of the interface, Disk 1.

4. Right-click in the Unassigned area, and select the new disk partition (N) item, as shown in Fig. 3. The Partition wizard appears when you select. Click Next.

5. Select Primary partition in the type of disk partition you want to create and click Next.

6. Select the appropriate partition size, and then click Next (N) when you are finished. Note: A single partition for the FAT32 format is not allowed to exceed 32G, and only NTFS format can be selected if the capacity exceeds the 32G partition. More than 32G FAT32 partitions can be established through Third-party software such as PowerQuest PartitionMagic8.0.

7, assign the drive letter. The drive letter is named for the new partition, usually the C disk, D disk and so on is the drive letter here by default. Click Next (N).

8, according to the need to choose the appropriate disk partition file system and whether the rapid format and other operations. WINDOWS98SE, Windows ME, Window 2000 Home Edition, Windows XP Home Edition, etc. select the FAT32 format file system; Windows XP (Professional), Windows 2000 (Professional Edition) window 2003 and so on recommend the choice of NTFS format file system (use FAT32 format also can). The FAT32 system has limits on file size, and a single file maximum cannot exceed 2g,ntfs without this limit.

9, the final press the "Completion" button to complete the partition operation, the remaining capacity can follow the above operation to recreate the new partition.

After inserting your mobile hard drive, open Control Panel--management tools--Computer Management--Disk Management, right click the letter you want to partition, you can partition.
