The Mac-brought dictionary (Dictionary) is a more practical, self-contained application in OS X, and it has a number of tricks. The following small series to bring you a few dictionary application use tips, so that everyone use the Mac more handy:
Multi-Dictionary Switching
In the dictionary people like to install a variety of different types of dictionaries, but the search for a word in the navigation bar click on the dictionary name to switch looks a bit troublesome. Of course there are a few tips for a keyboard party:
1. Command + number key to toggle the dictionary order of the Navigation bar
2, 0 is the starting number, that is, cmd + 0 switch to the "all" dictionary results
Screen Take word
One of the most important concerns for a dictionary on a computer is its screen-taking function, which is why OS X's own dictionary can do the same for you:
1, the mouse point to the object to take the word, while holding Control + Command + D
2, after the word release three shortcut keys, the word panel will always be displayed on the screen until the focus is lost
3, try to loosen the D key and move the mouse to other objects, you will find the word panel will be instantly translated
As a reminder, this screen-fetching function is only suitable for applications developed by the cocoa framework (such as Safari, IWork, Mail, and so on).
Spotlight translation
The dictionary application is also integrated into the Spotlight function. Enter the words you want to search for in Spotlight, and the results will appear in the "Definition (defenition)" line, and the mouse cursor will also show the detailed translation.
