How do I delete a search record? Five tips for erasing search record traces

Most of us leave records after we perform a search operation. For privacy reasons, many friends want to erase traces of their search records. Below, we will introduce the elimination method for each application separately.

　　First, "Erase" emule Search records

For users who use emule or emule Plus, to clear a search record, close the program, and then enter the X:program Filesemuleconfig folder in Explorer and locate the Ac_searchstrings.dat file. Open with the text Editing tool, delete the contents, as shown in Figure 1, save the changes, and close the file. When you restart the program, you will find that the search records have all disappeared.

　　Second, "Erase" Maxthon Search records

In Maxthon, to clear all browsing records immediately, click the menu bar "tools → clear browsing records → clear search history". If you want the program to automatically clear the search record when exiting, click on the menu bar "Options →maxthon Options", select "General" in the left view in the pop-up window, and then switch to the Exit tab in the right view, where you can check the "Clear Search bar History" checkbox and confirm the action.

　　Third, "Erase" Windows Media Player Media Library search records

In a multimedia file that has been searched in Windows Media Player, the program automatically displays the full file name, similar to the automatic completion of IE, when you re-enter the same file name as the beginning. To completely erase the past "Memory", click on the menu bar "tools → options", in the pop-up window to switch to the "Privacy" tab, click on the "Clear history" button.

　　Four, "erase" Mozilla Firefox search Records

We click "tools → options" on the menu bar of the program, click on the "Privacy" button in the pop-up window, view the right view, expand the "Save form Information" option, as shown in Figure 2, click the "Empty" button to immediately clear the record in the search bar. To save this information once and for all, remove the check box in the "Keep my information in Web Forms and Search fields" checkbox.

　　V. "Erase" Windows Search records
