1, place the insertion point anywhere in the paragraph where you want to create the drop cap.

2. Perform "format" → "drop cap" to open the drop Cap dialog box.

3. Under the "Position" bar, select "Sink" or "hang". When a paragraph does not set indents, the first word that sinks will occupy the left margin. Select None to cancel the drop cap.

4. In the "Font" drop-down menu, select the font for the dropped first word.

5, in the "Number of rows" box, set the number of rows to occupy the sink.

6, in the "according to the text" box, set the distance from the text of the first word.

7, click "OK".
