Most users may update to the latest OS X Mountain Lion system by upgrading the installation, which is indeed the best solution, which means that none of your previous data is lost, and even saved settings and passwords continue to work. But for some people who like to toss, there may be a need for a new installation.
The new installation is intended to discard all data on the original hard disk (or on the system partition) and format the data within that partition before installing it. Here's how to share:
Download the OS X Mountain Lion version from the Mac App Store First, do not install after download, follow the "How to make Mountain Lion new installation USB flash drive" article provides the method to make the installation USB flash drive.
Insert the created USB flash drive into the computer and shut down. Then press and hold the option key on the computer again (do not put down), and so on the Startup Disk Selection screen after the Open option key, select the USB flash drive you just finished boot.
After entering the installation screen, click "Utilities-Disk Utility" in the top menu bar, then select the disk (partition) you want to format in the Disk utility, click "Erase" on the right, set the erase format to Mac OS extension (journaled), and then remove the partition name and erase it.
After formatting (erase) is complete, exit the disk utility. Now click "Install Mac OS X" from the top menu bar and select the disk you just formatted to start the installation.
After restarting the system, you will start the new OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion installation, and the next steps will not be necessary.
