If your VNXe system does not have an internet connection, you can obtain a system LICENSE file from a computer with an Internet connection and upload them to the VNXe system.
Obtain and activate a VNXe system license:
The task you need to complete is to get the VNXe product ID. You can find the system's 14-digit product ID/SN on the tag on the back of the VNXe system.
1. Use a Web browser to open the EMC online support website (emc.com/vnxesupport) from an Internet-connected computer ). Make sure that you have disabled all possible pop-up blocking programs because they may prevent web page pop-up.
2. Click "Getting Started ".
3. On the "Getting Started" page, click "VNXe Registration and Licensing ".
4. On the "Register a Product" page, enter the Product ID and click "Continue ".
5. On the EMC Licensing Activation page, click Download File to Download the serial number File to your local device.
An email containing a license will also be sent to the email address bound to your EMC online support. If you want to send the license file to another email account, specify the email address you want to send and click [>.
When you receive an email containing a LICENSE file, save the file to your local system.
Do not modify the name of the license file.
6. Transfer the license file to a computer connected to the VNXe system, or connect the computer on which you obtained the license file to the same subnet as your VNXe system.
7. Use a web browser to log on to the unisxe using the VNXe system management IP address.
8. In uniseries, click Settings> More configuration> Manage Licenses.
9. On the Manage Licenses page, click Upload and Install License File.
10. Read the end user license agreement, click Accept license agreement, and click OK. The upload dialog box appears.
11. Find the license file on the local computer, select the file, and click open ".
The license file is installed on the VNXe system.
The license (lic) file is based on your VNXe serial number and enables all features at the time of purchase. Replication Manager (RM) may be contained in the package ).
When installing RM Manager, enter the same license file as prompted.
