How do I safely reboot the Vnxe sp?

Failure phenomenon:

This article describes how to safely restart a Vnxe storage processor (SP). If you see an unexpected error XXX on the storage processor in the Vnxe Unisphere graphical management interface, you can try to safely reboot the storage processor.

Solution:

Reboot the Storage processor (SP) to securely troubleshoot the SP itself, the component of the SP, or some minor problems with the system software on the SP. You can also restart a healthy SP in service mode so that it returns to normal mode. Rebooting the SP needs to be performed on the service system page.

Important: When an SP reboots, it stops the host's I/O service at the same time. When the End-to-end SP is healthy, all storage servers on this SP fail over to the End-to-end sp. By default, when the SP completes a reboot, the storage server is sliced back onto the SP. If the failback policy is disabled, all of the storage servers above will not be automatically failback, and the status of the single SP will be maintained. Performance decreases significantly when all storage servers are running on a single SP. To manually perform a failback storage server, see "Manual failback of Storage Servers".

To restart an SP:

1. Click Set up-> service system.

2. Enter the service password and access the service system page.

3. Under the system components, extend the storage system.

4. Select the SP you want to reboot.

5. Under service operation, select Reboot.

6. Click the Perform service operation to start the restart process.

7. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

8. Wait 10 minutes until SP reboots.

9. After selecting the SP, view the mode bar, Normal mode shows that the SP is in normal mode.

By default, the service system pages are refreshed every 60 seconds to show the current state and SP mode.

If restarting the SP does not resolve your problem, the next step is to consider remapping the SP.
