How do Word documents add page numbers and style
1. Open the Insert tab, click the page Number button in the Header and footer group, select the bottom page option in the expanded Drop-down list, and select the page number style in the open cascading list. For example, if you choose to place the page number at the bottom of the document page, select the bottom page option in the list and select the page number style to use in the expanded cascading list, as shown in Figure 1. When you are finished, the page number of the specified style is added to the document, as shown in Figure 2.

2, open the Design tab, click the page Number button in the Header and Footer group, and select the Format page numbering option in the Drop-down list, as shown in Figure 3.

3. Open the Page Number Format dialog box, select the numbering style in the numbering format Drop-down list, select the starting page number radio button, and then enter a value in the increment box that you want to set the starting page number, as shown in Figure 4. When you have finished setting up and click OK to close the dialog box, the number format of the page numbers has changed, as shown in Figure 5.

4, drag the mouse box to select the bottom of the page number text, open the Format tab, click the Quick Style button, in the Open list to select the text style applied to the page number text, as shown in Figure 6.
