How do you open Word only in safe mode?

What is the reason that we can only open in Safe mode when we use Word documents? This tutorial provides you with a way to solve the problem.

Fault Description:

Word fails to open, displays the Error Report dialog box, and closes when you click the "Do Not send" button. Run word again and ask if you want to start Word in safe mode. In this case, if you choose Yes,

Word will go into safe mode. In this mode, Word displays only the blank window, which needs to be opened manually before it can be displayed. If you choose No, Word will then play the error dialog box and fall into a dead loop.

However, other Office components, except Word, can function correctly.

　　Symptoms:

1.word forcibly shuts down, prompts for error reporting, and then requires that word be restarted.

2. When you restart Word, you will need to enter Safe mode after you have encountered a serious error. Choose "No" and then return to this state, so only choose "yes" this one choice.

3. Enter word Safe mode, prompting that the function is disabled.

4. No matter how many times reboot, can not start normally, only into safe mode.

5. Reloading and repairing office2003 are of no avail unless the system is reloading. Uninstall office2003 and then install office2000, Office XP (Office 2002), prompting for serious errors and Word cannot start.

Cause: Normal.dot This template file is corrupted. Possible causes are: abnormally close word programs, followed by documents being edited or opened, macros written and saved to Normal.dot, and other unknown reasons.

　　Workaround One:

1. Enter c:documents and Settingsuserapplication datamicrosofttemplates.

Where "user" is the user name of the current Windows login. Note that this requires looking for tools → folder Options → View from the menu bar of the Explorer (that is, my Computer or explorer).

Select Show all files and folders to view hidden and hidden folders (application data is a hidden folder).

2. Find Normal.dot and use Shift+delete to remove it completely.

3. Start Word and everything is back to normal.

Description: Normal.dot is a Word template file, Word in the boot process will check the state of the file is normal, if not normal, startup will fail.

If the other files are normal, the file is deleted, Word will automatically recreate the file, restore to the initial installation state, so you can safely delete.

You just look up the "Templates" file on your computer, and then you find it and you go into it, and then there are a few "Normal" and a "~normal" file, which I delete,

Then everything is back to normal! C:documents and settingsadministratorapplication datamicrosofttemplates directory, delete the "Normal.dot" public template file,

Restart Word again. If you cannot find normal in the C disk, you can do this by entering Word Safe mode and opening any Word document. Select/(Templates and add-ins), press "select" after "Document Templates".

Right-click the file in the picture box to delete it.

If you do not restart Word after deleting, try restarting your computer.

Workaround Three:

First find the following folder:

C:documents and Settingsadministratorapplicationdatamicrosofttemplates

will see "Normal.dot" This file, this is a public template file, should be corrupted, directly remove it, the fault is ruled out.

If this folder is not found, c:documents and settingsadministratorapplication can be datamicrosofttemplates

Copy paste to the address bar to find Normal.dot this file, delete it directly, close Word document, reopen, troubleshooting.

If it's still not working, delete the Office installation file and reload it again.
