Scene:
Some enterprise Exchange servers use the POP3 mode to communicate with the client's outlook to send and receive messages, which makes it easy for the client to change the path of the PST mailbox data file so that everyone can transfer the storage and free up the necessary disk space. However, most of the time, the Enterprise Exchange Server is communicating with the client's outlook in either MAPI or Exchange Server cache mode, and by default the piece is stored in: Documents and Settings\ User Name\local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. With the use of time, the file will continue to grow and occupy a large amount of C partition disk space, in view of this, provide you a way to change the path of the data file in order to free up the C partition disk space.
Problem:
How Outlook 2010 Changes the offline cache data for the OST file location.
Solution:
1. Open Outlook 2010. Click File > Account settings (Accounts settings) > Double-click Exchange email address > reverse Use cached exc hange mode (using Exchange cache mode). Note: The check "Use Exchange cache Mode" is canceled.
2. Click More settings (Other settings) > In the Advanced tab, click Outlook Data File Settings ... button > Click disable Offline use (disable offline) > Click OK, OK, Next, Finish.
3. Exit Outlook.
4. Place your *.ost file (usually this *.ost file is present in this folder:%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ Outlook.ost) move to the location you want to store (such as D:\outlook.ost).
5. Open Outlook 2010. Click Tools > Account Settings > Double-click Exchange email account > click More Settings > on the Advanced tab , click Outlook Data file Settings ... button > Click disable Offline Use > then the browse button above will light up. Click Browse and select the new file address D:\outlook.ost. Click OK, OK.
6. Tick before use Cached Exchange Mode. Click Next, Finish.
7. Exit Outlook.
8. Restart Outlook. The corresponding OST file should be moved to the location where you want to store it.
