Search for an invitation letter template
A rich free template is available on Office.com, and yellow can quickly search for appropriate invitation templates through the template search feature in Word 2010 background view.
1. Start the Microsoft Word 2010 application, click the File tab, and open the background view.
2. Switch to the new view, as shown in Figure 1.

3. Enter the letter of invitation in the search box in the Office.com template area and click the Start Search button to quickly search for the available document templates for invitations, as shown in Figure 2.

Download an invitation template
After you quickly search for a document template that you need by using the background view of Word 2010, you can click to download and automatically create a new document based on the template.
1. In the document template's search results, browse to select the template that meets your requirements, such as selecting the meeting invitation template, and then clicking the Download button in the preview pane on the right to download it, as shown in Figure 3.

2. After downloading the template, the system will automatically create a new document based on the template. Most of the common content that an invitation should have in this document already exists, and the format is straightforward, as shown in Figure 4.

Because the above downloaded template is in Microsoft version 2003 format, the document opens in compatibility mode, as shown in Figure 5.
