1. In the Grub boot program, a series of prompts are given below. If you are interested, you can try it out. Press the "e" key to enter the Grub configuration before the system starts. (If your system boot program is LILO, which is similar to Grub, follow the instructions provided by LILO)
2. Then we select the middle item: "kernel/vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root = LABEL =/" press the "e" key to edit.
3. Enter "Space + single" after "LABEL =/" and press Enter. Remember to enter space!
4. Then select the middle option: "kernel/vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root = LABEL =/single" and press the "B" key to start the single user mode system.
5. If a prompt such as sh-2.05b # appears in front of your system, congratulations, you have successfully entered single user mode.
6. Enter passwd root after sh-2.05b # And press Enter. The exciting new password input page is displayed.
7. After you enter the new password and confirm it again, your root user password will be changed successfully.
8. Enter the "reboot" command to restart the system. You can use the new password to use the root account upon next login.
