How does the WinXP system turn off automatic Updates?
The following are three common ways to turn off Automatic Updates for Windows XP:
First, the most convenient way:
"My Computer" right click, select "Properties → Automatic Updates", select "Turn off Automatic Updates", click "OK" exit.
Second, the most professional method:
"My Computer" right click, select "Admin", click the plus sign next to services and applications on the left, select the Services item, or enter Services.msc directly in run to open the Service Settings window.
In the Services list, locate the "Automatic Updates" item, double-click the Pop-up Properties window, after stopping the service, set Startup type to Disabled, and OK.
Three, the most complex method:
Enter "Gpedit.msc" in the run bar to open the Group Policy window, select Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates →windows Update, edit the settings on the right, and disable them all.
When you turn off automatic Updates, if you do not want the icon in the lower right corner system tray, you can open the Security Center by double-clicking the icon, click on the left side to change the "Security Center notification Mode", uncheck "Automatic Updates", and exit.
The changes are complete, so basically you can avoid the system's "black screen" prompts. However, for the sake of safety, it is recommended that you manually update the new Microsoft patch.
