Understanding Wireless Coverage
Coverage refers to the area where the wireless terminal can receive wireless signals. If the network is used normally within the coverage area, the wireless signal must be at a certain intensity (such as 2 grids or more ). At present, TP-LINK wireless router coverage in the ideal environment is 300 m radius, a single router can cover the general three-bedroom residential, duplex, small villas.

Factors affecting coverage
The wireless coverage is also called the wall-crossing capability. The coverage is affected by the following factors:
Wall material and thickness:Generally, the signal through a load-bearing wall (or two normal walls) is greatly reduced and can still be used normally.
Wireless transmit power:The higher the router's wireless transmission power, the greater the signal strength (the better the wall penetration capability ). Currently, the indoor transmit power of a wireless router generally does not exceed 20dBm. The higher the transmit power of a wireless router, the higher the signal strength, but exceeding the specified range will cause large electromagnetic radiation and interference.
Antenna gain:The higher the gain, the stronger the signal strength. At present, the antenna gain of most of our routers is 3dBi.
Operating frequency:Currently, Wi-Fi is available in 2G and 5G frequencies. In the same environment, 2G signals have better penetration capability than 5G signals.
Antenna angle:Generally, the coverage angle of the omnidirectional antenna is as follows, and the indoor vertical placement can achieve the best effect.

The coverage range of the wireless router is the signal strength. The range depends on the above factors and has no direct relationship with the number of antennas.
