How does Word set the first line indent?
The first of these methods
1. Select the paragraph text you want to edit, click the right mouse button, and in the shortcut menu that pops up, click Paragraph.
2. In the dialog box that pops up, switch to indent and spacing, set the special format in indent column to first line indent, point to 2 characters, and then click OK when you are finished setting it up.
3. The first line of each paragraph in the document is vacated by a 2-character distance. Each subsequent paragraph will automatically indent 2 characters in the first line.
The second method
1. Switch to the View tab, click the Show/Hide panel, and in the Drop-down menu that pops up, tick the ruler.
2. Select the paragraph you want to edit, and press the left mouse button to hold the "first line indent" small triangle on the horizontal ruler, such as the small triangle filled in the red area, and drag the position of 2 characters.
3. The first line of each paragraph is the same direction as the ruler moves, and the 2-character distance is indented to the right.
Note: Two ways to adjust the first line indent must first select the paragraph, otherwise only the paragraph where the cursor is located.
