How Excel Splits Cells

The previous lesson explains how to combine cells in Excel, and here's how to split cells. The prerequisite for splitting is that you have merged multiple cells and then split them apart, if a single "cell" cannot be split. Here's a simple way to say Excel07 and 03 of the two versions of each split cell.

How do I split cells in Excel2003?

The figure below is that I merged multiple cells into a single cell, and now we start splitting;

Right-click the cell that you want to split, then select Format cell in the pop-up list, remove the hook in front of the merge cell under Snap in cell format, and then OK; (as shown below).

Still, the split must be split into merged cells, and a single cell cannot be split.

Step one, we select the cells that need to be split, and when you select a cell, the Merge and center button

Step two, to split the merged cells, click Merge and Center

The contents of the merged cells appear in the cell in the upper-left corner of the split cell range.

You can merge the contents of several cells and display them in a cell. You can also split the contents of a cell and distribute it as parts in other cells.
