How Outlook indexes are generated

The message index is very helpful for speeding up the search for a message, the creation of an index is a time-consuming process when you have just finished Outlook installation or just poured into mail data, and at this point the search is incomplete, can you speed up the creation of the index, small weave to try.

1, of course, to use Indexing Service, you must make sure that the Indexing Service is already installed on your computer and that Indexing Service is in a startup state, you can right-click My computer, choose Management, manage the computing interface, choose the service and application on the left--service, look for Windows Search service on the right, Make sure you are in the startup state.

2, the choice starts----Control Panel, enters the Control Panel window, then selects in the Control Panel window the upper right corner < View way, then selects the big icon in the Drop-down selection, in the following figure the red circle position chooses.

3, the Control Panel will adjust the display mode, there are a large number of choices, drop down the right side of the bar, until you see the < index options > Options, as shown in the following figure, double-click Enter.

4, in the latter window can see the status of the current index, small series of the computer has been completed the creation, if not yet completed, you can choose the following changes button.

5, remove all items except Outlook before the check box, the following figure action, so as to ensure that only the index of Outlook messages are created, rather than busy creating other indexes, thereby increasing the speed of the creation of the message index.

6, click OK, the configuration is effective. To be reminded that the index is created in the background, if the computer detects the operation of the foreground, it slows down the index to release resources to meet the foreground operation, so the computer does not operate, will also speed up the creation of the index.
