How Word documents Add art borders
1, open the document you want to add a border. On the Start tab, in the Paragraph group, click the bottom triangle button on the Border button and select the Borders and Shading option in the open list, as shown in Figure 1. Open the Borders and Shading dialog box, select the border style in the WordArt drop-down list on the Page Border tab, and select the entire document option in the Apply to Drop-down list to set the scope of the border, as shown in Figure 2.

Attention
Use the Apply to Drop-down list box to set the scope of the border to apply to the page, including options for the entire document, this section, this section-only first page, and this section-all pages except the first. The styles list is used to select the line style for the border line, the Color Drop-down list box is used to set the color of the border line, and the Width drop-down list box is used to set the width of the border line.
2, in the Borders and Shading dialog box, click the Options button, open the Borders and Shading Options dialog box, set the margin of the border, as shown in Figure 3.

3, then click OK to close the Borders and Shading Options dialog box, and then click OK to close the Borders and Shading dialog box, the document is added to the selected art border, as shown in Figure 4.

Attention
When you add an art border, the width and color of the border cannot be changed. In addition, Word automatically switches to Page view mode if you are adding a border in normal view mode.
