A few years ago, the Ubuntu ext4 file system had already supported TRIM, but users needed to use additional methods to open it.

Fortunately, Ubuntu will officially announce that it will provide official support for version 14.04 next year (TRIM function will be enabled by default ), for mobile devices that rely heavily on flash storage, running Ubuntu is guaranteed.

However, this is only the tip of the iceberg in the mobile field of Ubuntu. Compared with the high-profile release at CES in the United States at the beginning of the year, the Ubuntu mobile version has recently entered a low tide.

First, the first Ubuntu Phone, which was originally planned to be available with Ubuntu October this year in 13.10, did not arrive as scheduled. The product manager of Canonical said that the new graphic structure of the mobile version is not yet fully supported, and the improvement still takes a few days.

The Ubuntu 13.10-based mobile system is hailed as Ubuntu Touch 1.0. As the mobile project progresses poorly, many original visions will be postponed to Ubuntu 14.04, which will be pushed to April next year. According to the data, Ubuntu Touch 1.5 (14.04 of the desktop version) will be able to supplement some of the missing functions on Version 1.0, such as the mobile phone vibration mode, bootsplash, and even the animation effect of the on/off server.
