This time decided to learn embedded, change to install a Linux system first familiar with the use of Linux system, but their own computer installed on the Win7 system does not want to install a dual system, one is idle trouble, and the second is because of the Linux system is not familiar with worry will be due to the misuse of their own operation and damage the system. So decided to install a virtual machine, simple and rude, if the system accidentally died directly shut down the restart is. But the reality is that a lot of things seem simple on the surface and actually have a lot of problems hidden. One of the problems is to install the software on Linux, but install the package on their own computer's hard disk, and in the virtual machine completely do not know how to access the files on the hard disk, so on all kinds of Internet access to find information, tried some online method but all seemingly no use, finally or accidentally see a blog post (specifically which I forgot ~ But still want to thank Bo Master, oneself according to their own situation to try a bit, finally is successful, the specific operation steps are as follows:

1. Installing VMware Tools

Power on your virtual system, Vm->install VMware Tools on the Virtual machine's window interface .... If this succeeds then the VMware Tools icon will appear on the desktop and a directory (CDROM) will be opened that contains the compressed files for the VMware Tools installation package.

Unzip the package: Here are a few things to keep in mind

First, the decompression installation Vmtools requires Superuser privileges (root), so if the current is not the root user login needs to switch to the root user, otherwise do not execute permissions

You can use the SU-directive and enter the root login password.

Second, if the direct decompression to the current directory </mnt/cdrom>, may be error: An errror occurred while extracting files, then extract the files into other directories such as/HOME/JFG ( JFG is one of my user names)

After the decompression is completed, you will get the Vmware-tools-distrib folder, you will find a vmware-install.pl file inside. Under this directory, enter Sudo./vmware-install.pl, and press ENTER in all subsequent options.

You can install VMware Tools.

Here are a few pictures (incomplete, anyway, you need to determine the direct return on the line)

After installing VMware Tools power off your virtual machine, do the following:

Select shared Folders in option to select Always enabled, then click Add, then click "Add" to establish a mapping of Windows files and Linux paths. Such as

Click OK, so you want the virtual machine Linux to access what files on your computer and copy this file to the shared folder specified above.

Note: In Linux, the file mount path is:/mnt/hgfs/xxx (XXX is the file name of the added shared files)

Hope to also be learning Linux, and then also like me to meet similar problems of friends are helpful ~
