How MAC OS restores factory settings

The first step: Erase your Boot disk

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install DVD into the CD drive and restart the computer.

2. Hold down the Option key when the computer starts.

3. Select Mac OS X Install DVD, and then click the arrow below it to boot from the DVD installation CD.

4. When the "Install Mac OS X" screen is displayed, click the Utility button and choose Disk Utility from the Utility menu.

5. Select your boot disk from the list on the left

6. Then click the "Erase" tab.

7. From the Format pop-up menu, choose Mac OS Extensions (log).

8. Type a name for your disk, and then click Erase.

9. After the disk is erased, select the Exit Disk tool from the Disk Tools menu. The "Install Mac OS X" screen will be returned; see "Step Two: Install Snow Leopard Operating system".

Step Two: Install Snow Leopard operating system

1. In the Install MAC OS X screen, click Continue.

2. When the license agreement is displayed, click "Consent" to agree to its terms.

3. By default, the target disk "Macintosh HD" is selected. If necessary, change the destination disk (if it is a different volume, use the disk you erased in the previous step).

4. Click "Install". During Mac OS X installation, a status bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

5. The "Additional Information" screen will be displayed informing you that the operating system is installed. Additionally, this screen informs you that the bundled application has not been installed. Click Continue.

6. The Install succeeded screen appears. This is the ending! You can click Restart.

7. When the reboot is complete, a "Welcome" video is played, and the "Country selection" screen appears, completing the Mac OS X Setup Assistant operation Step by step.

8. Finally, find the application that came with your computer. Install the bundled application and the recovery process is complete when the installation is complete.
