How much space do I need to allocate to install Windows 8 C disk?
Before you install Windows 8, to partition how much disk space for the system, is the first important factor to consider, because the system volume if the partition is too much space will waste disk resources, too little, but also because of the increasing system files and cause system disk space is not enough, bring unnecessary trouble. So how much disk space do we need to install Windows 8?
Microsoft's official recommendation:
Installing Windows 8 (x86) requires at least GB of available disk space;
Installing Windows 8 (X64) requires at least GB of available disk space;
Think that Microsoft's official recommendations are built on the basis that Windows 8 can be run alone, and for our day-to-day use, Windows 8 has a system disk installed, as well as Microsoft Office, such as Photoshop, such as common software and anti-virus software, and so on, these non portable software installed in the C disk is wonderful. Plus the system's dormant files, virtual memory files, System Restore files and so on, so Microsoft's disk space allocation ratio is obviously not enough.
Our newly installed Windows 8 (x86) consumes approximately 10.6 GB of disk space; Windows 8 (64) requires approximately GB of disk space. So the software sketch suggests:
Plan to install non-portable software such as office, PS, etc. to C-disk users:
The partition on which Windows 8 is installed should be allocated no less than GB of disk space;
Similar to the requirements of the Netbook users:
Installation of Windows 8 X86 disk space is not less than 20G;
The disk space for installing Windows 8 X64 is not less than 25G.
