Oracle Archive mode is very important!
It is dangerous for some databases to be non-archived after they have just been installed! For the sake of security, be sure to remember: for Oracle database, must be set to the archive mode, especially the production library, only in order to achieve the effective full recovery of the database! Here's how to set the Oracle database to archive mode:
1) View the current archive mode of the database
In the SYS user log in to the database, enter select Log_mode from V$database as shown in:
Next, look at the automatic archive status and archive process as shown in: ( only if turn to enable is the Automatic archive mode )
Then continue to view:
Obviously, there is no automatic archive, no archiving process, and not archiving mode. To turn on archive mode, set the following:
2) Close the database and boot to mount state
Note: The above error is not in the middle of the tube, no effect. Because I have modified a log_archive_start parameter in the operation, in fact, this parameter only oracle10g before the version needs to be modified, here mistakenly operation of this parameter, but does not affect.
3) Modify the database to archive mode
At this point, the Oracle database has been set to archive mode!
