1. Draw a graphic that you want to crop, such as an ellipse, using the Drawing toolbar.

2, select the ellipse, click the Fill Color button in the right black triangle on the Drawing toolbar, and from the List menu, click Fill Effects.

3, open Select the Picture tab, click (Select Picture) button, from the Select Picture dialog box to find the appropriate picture, click (Insert) button and return to the Fill Effect dialog box after the last click (OK) button exit.

This image appears as the background of an elliptical figure, changing the original shape of the rectangle and obtaining a satisfactory result of cropping the picture.
