how the Word Document Callout page number starts at 1
In Word layout, after the cover is inserted, the page number after the cover is the 2nd page. Besides, the page number on the cover is not a regular habit. So a lot of people ask, if the cover does not mark page numbers, and the cover page does not count the total number of pages, how the text from page 1th to start the page?
In fact, this problem can be done with the help of "section" and its attribute continuation settings. In the layout of the previous illustration, after you hit the cover picture, select the layout → separator → section break → next page (insert section break and start a new section on the next page).
Then we see that the 2nd page of the document, the 1th page of the body, is no longer page 2nd, but also the 1th page, which shows that you have achieved the goal of recalculation of page numbers from 1.
So, how do you get rid of the ugly page numbers underneath the cover? You can't rush to the first page to remove the page number, because the next page of the header and footer property is currently in the same as the previous state, if deleted, the body of the page number is not. You need to position the cursor on the second page footer, and then use the link to previous header button on the design menu to "cut off" the properties of the footer on the previous page.
After that, place the cursor in the footer of the cover page, and click design → page number → delete page number. So the page number on the cover is removed.
After you delete the cover page number, and then back to the end of the 1th page, see the page number is still intact and from 1, meet the requirements.
It can be inspired by the above case: if you need to set up a separate page number for each chapter (or a particular section) in a large document, use the section separator and then remove it from the previous section, you can set your own page number independently.
However, careful you may have found that the total number of page numbers does not subtract 1 pages of the cover page, the last page becomes 4/5, then where is the 5/5 page? It seems a bit illogical. How to correct it? We just select the 5 digits in the footer page area 1/5, right-click, select Edit field, and then change "numberpages" to "SectionPages".
The confirmation will find that the total page number of the document has changed from 5 to 4, the last page has become 4/4, and the cover page is clearly no longer included, so it is logical.
