How to back up and restore dual operating systems

The method of backing up and restoring a dual operating system is similar to a single operating system and is a backup of the partition where the operating system is installed. For example, the backup and restore method for installing Windows 2003 (shown in Figure 1) on a Windows xp,d disk on the C disk is as follows.

1, backup dual operating system

When backing up dual operating systems, you need to be aware of the following two points:

(1) Remember to install both systems before performing a backup operation.

(2) When backing up NTFS partitions, you need to use the version of Ghost 8.0 or Ghost 2003.

Figure 2 and Figure 3 show a way to back up the dual operating system shown in Figure 1.

2, restore the dual operating system

To restore the dual operating system to pay attention to two points:

(1) The image file for which partition is made, to which partition, such as backing up the image file of the C partition where Windows XP resides, reverts to the C partition and, as shown in Figure 4, backs up the files on the D partition and reverts to the D partition. Do not restore to the other partitions, otherwise the partition on the data will be covered, causing irreparable damage.

(2) You do not have to restore two systems at once, for example, if Windows 2003 is out of order, you can restore Windows 2003.
