How to back up old emails in Thunderbird

I useThunderbirdThe mail client stores a large number of mails. more than 1200 mails are sent and more than 1500 mails are received. The sent mails occupy about 25 MB, and the received mails occupy MB. This allows me to clear it to facilitate mail management. ThinkBackupNo way. I checked the information and found a solution!

My idea is to remove all old emails that I don't need from Thunderbird. After thinking about it for a while, I figured out a good way. Thunderbird built a folder in its profile, and there were no extensions or msf files with the same name in these folders.

1. Create a new folder, name it accordingly, and remove it from the profile folder of Thunderbird. I created a folder named sent-071101 and moved all sent emails to the folder. This allows you to move files to a new folder by dragging them.

2. Then, you can close Thunderbird and open the profile folder. Generally, it will be in Application Data (program Data) in the Documents & Settings folder.

3. I created a new mail backup folder that moved the file sent-071101 AND THE sent-071101.msf TO THE NEW FOLDER without displaying these emails in Thunderbird. So far, I moved other emails and classified them into backup files.

This is a good method to back up mail, as long as you copy all the files in the mail client to other folders in the computer or burn to a DVD or CD disk.

Location of the profile folder of the original Thunderbird:

C: \ Documents ents and Settings \ van dread \ Application Data \ Thunderbird \ Profiles \ XXXXXX. default \ Mail \
