How to build a parent-child domain environment?
Many companies use a single domain for management at the initial stage. As the company grows, it will have branches in other regions, such as Beijing and Shanghai, in this case, you need to add a new domain for management. In this case, you need to use the domain forest. In the domain forest, the root node domain is the parent domain, and the newly added child domain is the subdomain.
The following uses Windows2012 as an example to describe the requirements and construction of the parent and child domains:
Requirements:
The two Windows Servers configure two domains, one as the parent domain and one subdomain;
Setup procedure: the parent Domain A is properly installed. After logging on to Windows Server, click Server Manager and click "Promote this server to a domain controller ", in the pop-up configuration Domain, select the "Domain in a new forest" option and click Next until the configuration is complete.
Log on to the Domain B Server in the subdomain, open the NIC configuration, and enter the IP address of Domain A at the DNS Server in TCP/IP Properties;
Click Server Manager and click "Promote this server to a domain controller ";
In the pop-up window for Domain configuration, Select "Domain tree in an existing forest" and Select Child domain in the Select Domain type field below;

In this case, you can log on to the subdomain Windows Server, right-click My Computer, and view the full name of the Computer. It displays the name of the parent domain and subdomain: Child.Demo.cn, which is correct.
Note:: There is no DNS Server in the subdomain. If you want to add a Host, You need to log on to the parent domain machine and add it.
