How to build a multi-domain mail system with mail server

The recipient policies in Exchange Server is an important feature that has a recipient's mailbox address, including: X.400 addresses, Microsoft Mail adress, cc:mail Addressing, SMTP address, Lotus Notes adress, Novell GroupWise addresses, and so on. In Exchange Server, it is through recipient Policies that the email forwarded to this server conforms to the established recipient Policies and is used to determine whether or not to receive it.

When we installed a new Exchange server, we automatically set up a default Policy, which uses the domain name we entered at the time of the installation as the mail address. View this policy as shown in Figure 1:

The filter rules (mailnickname=*) represent all users using this policy, which means that when we create a new user, Exchange will automatically pass recipient Update Service creates a mailbox for the user.

Below, we will take concrete steps to describe how to use the characteristics of the recipient policies to establish a multiple domain name mail system.

Implementation steps

(1) First click "Start", "Programs", "admin tools", "Active Directory Users and Computers"

After opening Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click your domain and select new, organizational unit.

In "name" fill in your new e-mail domain name, such as: You need to create new mail domain name is: someone@yourdomainb.com, then in the "name" to fill in: yourdomainb.com, after filling in, click "Confirm".

(2), new and set recipient Policies

Open Exchange System Manager, expand Recipients, and click Recipient Policies. On the right you will see the existence of all recipient Policy.
