Wireless signals generally refer to wireless Wi-Fi. Wireless signal names and wireless passwords are two of the most important information for a wireless terminal to connect to a router. In actual use, wireless connection failures, wireless password forgetting, or password changing is often required for the network. In this case, you may need to view or modify the signal name or password.
This document describes how to view or modify the wireless signal name or password.
Procedure
TL-WR840N supports guest wireless networks (wireless signals dedicated to guests), if you need to set or view or modify guest network settings, click refer to guest network settings.
Clear the browser address bar and enter the management address tplogin.cn, as shown in the following figure:
Enter the vro management password to go to the management interface:

After logging on to the management interface, the network status is displayed on the upper left of the page. You can manage the wireless network name and password as follows:

You can modify the bandwidth of the wireless channel, mode, or band.
Important:If you only change the wireless password without the name, the terminal that has connected to the wireless signal cannot automatically connect to the signal. You must delete the wireless configuration file stored on the terminal and connect again. Refer to how to delete the wireless configuration file.
If the signal name is changed, the connection is normal.

1Can the signal be set to Chinese?
A: Do not set the Wireless name in Chinese to ensure that the wireless network can be used normally. After the encoding format is set to Chinese, some terminals may not be able to search for signals or garbled characters due to inconsistent encoding formats.
2Do I need to restart after changing the signal?
A: The name, password, and parameters of the wireless signal take effect immediately without restarting.
