Cookie
Cookies are small files placed on your computer. They store information about you and your preferences. Cookies enable websites to remember your preferences or prevent you from logging on to some websites each time, thus improving your browsing experience. However, some cookies may track the websites you visit, thus endangering privacy and security. For more information, see delete and manage cookies in Internet Explorer.
Do not trace
When Do Not Track is enabled, Internet Explorer sends Do Not Track requests to websites you visit and third parties hosting content on these websites to notify these websites that you Do Not want to be tracked. For more information, see Do Not Track.
InPrivate Browsing
To improve your Web experience, the browser will store some information, such as your search history. When InPrivate is used for browsing, information such as password, search history, and page history is deleted after you close the tab.
To open an InPrivate browser session
1. On the Start screen, click or click Internet Explorer to open Internet Explorer.
2. From the bottom up (or right-click) to pop up the application command.
3. Click or click the "tab tool" button.
And then click or click "create InPrivate Tab ".
To open an InPrivate browser session on the desktop
· Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar and select "start InPrivate Browsing ".
To disable the add-on in an InPrivate browser session
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. On the "privacy" tab, select the "disable toolbar and extension when InPrivate browsing starts" check box, and then click or click "OK ".
Location
The location service allows the site to ask about your physical location to improve your experience. For example, a map website may request your physical location to place your location in the center of the map. When a site wants to use your location, Internet Explorer will prompt you. When this prompt appears, click or click "allow once" to allow the site to use your location only once. If you want the site to use your location for each visit, click or click "always allow ".
To disable location sharing
If you do not want the site to ask about your physical location, you can disable location sharing. The procedure is as follows:
1. On the Start screen, click or click Internet Explorer to open Internet Explorer.
2. Sweep from the right edge of the screen to the center and click "set ".
(If you are using a mouse, point to the lower right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click "set ".)
3. Click or click "privacy". Under "location", switch "allow the site to ask about my physical location" to "off ".
Pop-up window blocking program
In the pop-up window, the blocking program can restrict or block the websites you visit. You can select the preferred blocking level, enable or disable the pop-up window blocking notification, or create a list of sites that are not blocked in the pop-up window as needed. The pop-up window only applies to the desktop version of Internet Explorer.
Open or close the pop-up window to block programs
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. Under "pop-up blocking program" on the "privacy" tab, select or clear the "Open blocking program in the pop-up window" check box, and click or click "OK ".
Block all pop-up windows
Even if the pop-up blocking program is enabled, Internet Explorer does not block the pop-up window for sites from the "local Intranet" and "trusted sites" in the security area. If you want to block all pop-up windows, including "local Intranet" and "trusted sites", you must change the blocking level.
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. Under "pop-up blocking program" on the "privacy" tab, click or click "set ".
4. In the "block level" dialog box in the "block program settings" dialog box, set the block level to "high: block all pop-up windows (Ctrl + Alt overwrite )".
5. Click or close, and then click or OK ".
Disable notification when the pop-up window is blocked
If you do not want Internet Explorer to send you a notification every time it blocks the pop-up window, you can disable the notification.
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. Under "pop-up blocking program" on the "privacy" tab, click or click "set ".
4. In the "blocked program settings" dialog box, clear the "Display notification bar" check box.
5. Click or close, and then click or OK ".
Tracking Protection
Tracking Protection helps prevent browsing information from being sent to a third-party content provider on the Accessed website. You can view the trace protection list as the "Do Not Call" list. Internet Explorer blocks any third-party content from sites in the list and limits the information that these third-party sites may collect about you. Security Zone
By changing security settings, you can customize how Internet Explorer protects your computer against potentially harmful or malicious Web content. Internet Explorer automatically assigns all websites to a security region: Internet, local Intranet, trusted sites, or restricted sites. The default security levels of each region are different. The security level determines the types of content that may be blocked from the corresponding site. According to the security level of the site, some content may be blocked. The blocked content can only be removed after you select to allow it. The ActiveX control may not run automatically, or you may see a warning message for some sites. You can customize the settings for each region to determine the degree of protection you want or do not want.
Change security region settings
The procedure for setting a custom security region is as follows:
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. Click or click the "security" tab and customize the security region settings as follows:
O to change the settings of any security area, click or click the area icon and move the slider to the security level you need.
O to create your own security settings for a region, click or click the region icon, click or click "custom level", and select the desired settings.
O to restore all security levels to their original settings, click or click "reset all regions to the default level.
The security settings you perform here will affect both Internet Explorer and the desktop version of Internet Explorer.
Add or delete sites in the security area
1. Open the desktop, and click or click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar.
2. Click or click "tools", and then click or click "Internet Options ".
3. click or click the "security" tab and select a security region icon ("local Intranet", "trusted site", or "restricted site "), click or click site ". You can add or delete sites that are no longer needed in the selected region.
4. If you select "local Intranet" in the previous step, click or click "Advanced" and then perform one of the following operations:
O add site: enter a URL in the "Add this website to region" box, and then click or click "add ".
O delete site: under "website", select the URL to be deleted, and then click or click "delete ".
Enable Enhanced protection mode
The enhanced protection mode further prevents malicious software from being easily executed in Internet Explorer. This mode is enabled by default in Internet Explorer, but you can enable or disable this mode for desktop Internet Explorer. For more information, see manage Internet Explorer add-ons.
