How to change the Linux host name?

Source: Internet
Author: User

The ostname command only temporarily changes the host name. After restart, the host name is restored to the original one.

To change the host name permanently, modify the/etc/sysconfig/network file.

VI

/Etc/sysconfig/network, change the hostname line to "hostname = Host Name"

For example:

Hostname = linuxserver

Gateway = 10.16.255.254

(No? Add this line), and then run the command

"Hostname host name ". You must modify the host name in the/etc/hosts file. In this way, no matter whether you restart or not, the host name is modified successfully.
