As you all know, Thumbs.db is a file that stores picture thumbnail caches in Windows, and many people think it doesn't work at all and waste hard disk space, so everyone disables the Windows image caching feature, freeing up hard disk space. In fact, for today's 120GB, 160GB of large-capacity hard disk, the Thumbs.db occupies a little space is really insignificant, and it can really speed up the display of thumbnails speed. But when a lot of good quality pictures are stored in a folder, you will see that thumbnails appear very slow when viewed using thumbnails, and you may have turned on the cache thumbnail function, but the speed is still unsatisfactory. In fact, we just change one parameter, we can give thumbs.db weight loss, and for thumbnail display acceleration.
Step one: Download the Tweak UI version from the Http://www.mydown.com page.
The second step: Extract the downloaded files, directly run the extracted TweakUI.exe files.
Step Three: Click the + number in front of "explorer" in the Left tree list and click "Thumbnail", at which point we can see that there are two items that we can change, one is the quality of the thumbnail, and the other is the size of the thumbnail image. The quality of the changed thumbnail determines the size of the generated Thumbs.db file, and the size of the thumbnail determines how quickly the thumbnail is displayed when viewed as thumbnails. Appropriate modifications may be made as necessary. It is recommended that the image quality should not be modified too low, the thumbnail size to 48 on it, too small can not see clearly.
Note:
1. By using the Tweak UI to make thumbnails smaller, the effect of faster thumbnail display is obvious, especially for folders that store a large number of high-quality image files. Changes to the thumbnail image quality are valid only for the newly generated thumbnail and cannot be changed for the previously generated thumbnail file, so it is recommended that all thumbs.db files on the machine be deleted after the change, so that when you open the folder again, the thumbnails are generated with the new settings.
2. For the average user, the image files stored in each folder is not much, you can disable the cache thumbnail function, but for some of the special design work of friends, recommended to open, and appropriately adjust the thumbnail display quality and size, On the one hand for thumbs.db weight loss, reduce disk space occupancy, on the other hand for thumbnail display to mention the speed.
