How to clear the list of recently opened files in Ubuntu 14.04

This concise tutorial describes how to clean up historical Ubuntu 14.04 files for beginners.

To delete history records from dash search, follow the following procedure.

Go to System Settings and enable Security and Privacy ).

Under the Files and Applications tab, click Clear Usage Data ).
