How to compile and install bzip2 in linux

Download the source file installation package: www.bzip.orgdownloads.html Unzip: download the source file installation package:

Http://www.bzip.org/downloads.html

Decompress:

Tar-xzvf bzip2-1.0.6.tar.gz

Enter the decompressed Directory:

Cd bzip2-1.0.6

To prepare for compilation, create the libbz2.so dynamic link library (this step is very important. if this step is not completed during python installation, python cannot install the bz2 module ):

Make-f Makefile-libbz2_so

Compilation & installation:

Make & make install
