I. Preface
After the upgrade to 10.5, the following errors are always prompted when you open iTunes:
If mobiledevicehelper encounters a problem, disable it. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Another desktop is installed with the Windows XP system, but the new version of iTunes 10.5 is installed. Therefore, it is suspected that the uninstallation is not clean.
2. Fully uninstall iTunes
1. in "Control Panel"-> "add or delete programs", uninstall iTunes and related components: (it is best to follow the order below, if the order of uninstallation is different, or only uninstall some components, you may see various warning information. Restart your computer after uninstalling it)

2. Quicktime (version 10.5 does not have an independent QuickTime)
3. Apple Software Update
4. Apple mobile device support

2. Clear user data information (including local media library and other information)
In the "My Documents"-> "My music" directory, delete the "ITunes" directory.
If you want to retain user data and only want to delete related configurations, try to delete only the iTunes library. ITL file under the "ITunes" directory. If the problem cannot be solved, we recommend that you delete the entire directory.
3. Clear the iTunes configuration information: (mainly configuration, including a small amount of data, such as the IOS firmware of the iPhone/itouch downloaded earlier)
Delete the Apple computer directory under the c: \ Documents ents and Settings \ {Login User name} \ Application Data Directory
Delete the directories of Apple and Apple Computer in the C: \ Documents and Settings \ {Login User name} \ Local Settings \ Application Data Directory

After the installation is complete, reinstall itunes10.5.
According to Apple's official tip (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3418? Viewlocale = zh_cn & locale = zh_cn), tried other methods: Install the Safari browser and install an independent version of QuickTime. The problem remains unsolved.
Iv. Final Solution
In the c: \ Program Files \ common files \ Apple \ mobile device supp directory, set compatibility for the applemobiledevicehelper.exe Program (right-click-> properties-> compatibility) and choose to run the program in compatibility mode, for compatibility options, select Windows 98/Windows ME mode. Click "OK" and open iTunes again. The message "mobiledevicehelper has stopped working" is no longer displayed.
