We know that the network functions have been greatly improved in Microsoft's Vista system, especially when the settings are very different from those in previous versions, this makes it difficult for many new users who have just installed the Vista system. Next, I will teach you how to create and manage a VPN personal virtual network in the Vista system.
1. Create a connection
Start the Vistat system, and then click "Start/Connect" to display all available network connections in the current system, click the "set connection or network" link below, and the "connect to network" window will pop up. The four options for connecting to the network are listed here, because a VPN connection is established, select "connect to workspace" (1) and click "Next.
Figure 1
Select "use my Internet connection (VPN)", click "Next", and enter the IP address and target name of the VPN to be logged on (2 ), you can also set whether to use a smart card, allow others to use the connection, and whether to connect to the VPN immediately.
Figure 2
Enter the user name and password assigned to you, and click "Next" to automatically connect to the VPN. Then, the VPN connection is created.
Ii. Routine VPN Maintenance
After the VPN is established, you can also use the dial-up connection method when you need to connect, and click the "Start/Connect" menu in sequence. Then you can see all available edge connections, select the corresponding VPN connection in the connection list, and double-click it to connect to the VPN network immediately.
However, the management options for dial-up connections in "Connected Networks" are limited. You cannot manage connections more, or even delete an existing connection. How can we manage VPN connections in the "connected network?
First, click the "Open Network and sharing center" link in the "Connect Network" dialog box to enter the "Network and sharing center" window (3 ).
Figure 3
You can manage "Network Connections", including "RENAME", "delete", "create shortcuts", and "create copies, you can even change the connection settings.
If you want to place the VPN link on the desktop, you only need to select the desired VPN link in the "Network Connection" window, and then click the "Create shortcut" button, the system will automatically pop up "Windows cannot create a shortcut in the current location. Do you want to put the shortcut on the desktop?" Click "yes" to create a VPN shortcut on the desktop.
