How can I configure Apache Tomcat (version 4.x) to work with the Crystal Enterprise Report Application Server (Ce RAS) 9?

The Crystal Enterprise Report Application Server 9 is only available on the accompanying crystal report 9 Professional Edition, Developer Edition, and stand-alone CD provided by the advanced edition.

Solution:

To configure Apache Tomcat (version 4.x) to work with Ce Ras 9, complete these steps:

1. Install ce Ras 9 and Apache Tomcat 4.xon the same computer. If you want to install ce Ras 9 Java SDK and Ce Ras 9 service on different computers, make sure that Ce Ras 9 Java SDK and web server are installed on the same computer.

2. Copy the '../program files/common files/crystal decisions/2.0/crystalreportviewers' folder to the Tomcat 'webapps/root' folder.

3. Open the 'web. xml' file in the 'webapps/root/WEB-INF 'folder.

4. Add the context parameter to specify the location of the 'crystalreportviewers' folder, as shown below:

· The context root folder is set to Tomcat 'webapps/root '. Place your ce Ras 9 JSP program in this folder or its subfolders. However, the location may vary depending on your tomcat version. For other configurations, refer to the Tomcat document about setting web contexts.

5. create the 'lib' folder under the Tomcat 'webapps/root/WEB-INF 'folder, and then '... copy all jar files in the/program files/common files/crystal decisions/2.0/jars folder to this folder.

6. Restart the Apache Tomcat server.

Note:
To access the crystal report, you also need to configure the "Report directory" option of RAS based on the Report storage location.
Use Ras Configuration Manager for configuration.
By default, this option is '../program files/crystal decisions/Report Application Server 9/reports', and any reports in this directory and Its subdirectories can be accessed.
If your report is in another location, enter the asterisk (*) to allow you to access the report at any location on the local computer.
After the configuration is modified, restart the Report Application Server Service for the modification to take effect.
