How to configure Oracle SQL developer

Oracle SQL developer is a database development tool that comes with oracle 11. to use it, you need to install java jdk. I installed jdk1.6 update2, but it cannot be used. Later I installed update26. I have not made any in-depth research on which jdk version is required.
Run Oracle SQL developer and configure the java. jar path.
Click new

Select Database Connection, OK

Connnection Name: connection Name (custom)
Username: Username used to connect to the database
Password: Password used to connect to the database
Hostname: Server Name (localhost is used for my local host)
Port: Port Number (generally 1521)
SID: Database Name (orcl by default)
The first connection is incorrect because the SID is incorrect.
