How to configure the command prompt _dos/bat

To configure a command prompt

Open a command prompt.
Click the upper-left corner of the command Prompt window, and then click Properties.
Click the Options tab.
In command history, in buffer size, type or select 999, and then type or select 5 in the number of buffers.
In edit options, select the Quick edit mode and insert mode check boxes.
Click the Layout tab.
In the height of screen buffer size, type or select 2500.
You can also perform the following optional actions:
In screen buffer size, increase the width value.
In window size, increase the height value.
In window size, increase the width value.
Clear the Locate Windows by System check box, and in window position, change the values in the left and top.
In the Apply Properties dialog box, click Save Properties for a window with the same title later.

To open command prompt properties from the keyboard, press the ALT+SPACEBAR+P key combination.
When you select the Quick Edit mode check box, you can perform copy and paste operations from the Command Prompt window. When copying, first select the text in the Command Prompt window with the left mouse button, and then click the right mouse button. When pasting in a command prompt window or text file, click the right mouse button.
After you increase the screen buffer size to 999, you can scroll through the command Prompt window.
If the number of buffers increases to five, the number of rows in the command prompt window increases to 5000.
To disable or enable the automatic completion of file and directory names on your computer or in a user logon session, run Regedit.exe and set the following REG_DWORD values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\completionchar\reg_dword

To set the REG_DWORD value, you use the hexadecimal value of the control character for a particular feature (for example, 0x9 represents the TAB key, and 0x08 represents the BACKSPACE key). User-specific settings take precedence over computer settings, and command line options take precedence over registry settings.
