How to connect to an xp shared printer and an xp printer in win7/8/10
Generally, there are many computers in the LAN, including desktops and laptops. The systems of these computers may have the following versions: windows XP system, windows 7 system, windows 8 system, and windows 10 system, even some are 32-bit, some are 64-bit ........ then the problem arises: in such a complex local area network, the mutual sharing of printers between them becomes a problem.
Open "my computer" -- "properties" -- "computer name" -- "change" and set all the computers in the LAN to the same working group!
Open "Network neighbors"> "properties", go to the "Network Connection" page, and click "Local Connection"> "properties". The following dialog box is displayed. Click "Install"
In the displayed "select network component type" dialog box, select "protocol" and click "add". In the displayed "select Network Protocol" dialog box, select "NWLinkIPX/SPX /... click "OK", for example:
After the installation is successful, you can view the added protocol in "Local Connection" as follows:
After the protocol is installed, go to "Control Panel" to find "printer and fax", and select "Add Printer" on its side. The following dialog box is displayed, and select "network printer... click "Next ";
When prompted for the printer interface to be selected, select "connect to this printer...", as shown below, and then click "Next"
In the displayed Installation Wizard, select the desired network printer and go to "Next", as shown below:
In the displayed dialog box, click "yes" to enter the next wizard, as shown below:
In the last step, select whether to set the current printer to the default printer of the computer, and click "OK" to complete the installation, as shown below:
OK. Now, the network printer has been added!
